Trusted Members of your Circle! Non-Disclosure or Not?
Updated: Jan 9, 2022
Before you disclose an idea, have people sign NDA's (Non-Disclosure Agreement). Especially for those who you consider to be in your circle. If you don't have an NDA, do not share your idea's until one is signed! The truth is everyone is looking for an opportunity to WIN. Sometimes that means it's at your OWN expense. This has happened to me recently and in past years.
The question is, is it right or wrong for person's to have taken your idea or creation that is planned out and ready for implementation and use it for their own good? In my opinion, I would say that this is more or less unethical if that person is considered apart of your circle. The persons looking to implement the idea that you have created should extend professional courtesy and should inform you that they are moving ahead with a similar idea or creation as yours.
Yes, I agree that anyone can develop and create anything they want. However, if you have been apart of a business conversation that contains the discussion of ideas for someones business, you should be extend courtesy and disclose moving forward with what was discussed.
Safe guard your opportunities to build your business. Also, as I mentioned in my previous Weekly Thought you have to be intentional about who you work with because not everyone has your best interest at heart.
